Welcome to Volume 3, Issue No. 2 of the JSI Journal of Sustainable Infrastructure. This issue brings together a diverse collection of research that explores the dynamic field of sustainable infrastructure from multiple perspectives, addressing current advances and ongoing challenges in this critical area of development.
In this edition, we delve into a variety of themes, ranging from innovative approaches in wastewater treatment and risk assessment in industrial processes to the implementation of green building certifications and their impacts on construction practices globally. Each article contributes to our understanding of how sustainable practices can be effectively integrated across different sectors and geographic contexts.
Highlighted in this issue are papers such as "Exploring Strategies to Overcome Antibiotic Resistance in Wastewater Treatment Plants: A Review" by Sofiyah et al., which provides a comprehensive review of current strategies and future directions for reducing antibiotic resistance in environmental settings. Similarly, "Work Accident Risk Assessment in Hot Rolled Coil Production with the Failure Mode, Effect, and Criticality Analysis" by Sari et al., offers insights into enhancing safety and sustainability in heavy industry through meticulous risk assessments.
We also feature a significant study by Unegbu on "Evaluating the Influence of Green Building Certifications on Construction Practices in Nigeria," which examines the impact of sustainable building standards on local construction methodologies, aiming to foster broader adoption of eco-friendly practices in the developing world.
The contributions in this issue underscore the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and collaboration in advancing the goals of sustainable infrastructure, reflecting the journal's commitment to presenting thorough and impactful research that not only informs but also inspires action towards sustainability in infrastructure development.
We hope that the research presented in this volume serves as a valuable resource for academics, practitioners, and policymakers engaged in the quest for sustainable infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of present and future generations.
